Japanese Army Officer Field Sword - BLADE: dated 1871, signed “Gasan Sada Kazu”. BLADE MARKINGS: Faint straight temper line. Blade shows pits and staining from handling. HABAKI: Copper with Rain Symbol. GUARD (Tsuba): Standard brass Army issue. HANDLE (Tsuka): Standard WWII officer handle, with Menuki in good condition. SCABBARD: Wood with leather combat cover. Heavy wear from use. Locking strap broken. MEASUREMENTS: 39.5” overall. 25.5” blade. Please see photos for overall condition.
