WWII German Waffen SS 1st patt. “plaintree” Smock - WWII German Waffen SS 1st pattern “plaintree” camo smock, converted into a combat field jacket. Five button front closure. Top 3 wood button-same style. Bottom 2 buttons wood and different style. Neck lace up grommets between top 3 buttons. Sleeve cuff buttons match upper buttons. Various field repairs evident where the most wear occurred-button loops, pockets. Holes in both pockets. Rear side straps utilize metal buttons. Interior of jacket is the “Fall” brown pattern. Interesting detail of this jacket is the presence of the number “3” on the lower left side in the front. This number designates the camouflage pattern textile roll (#3 Plaintree) which this jacket is made from, indicating that this the first jacket made from the roll. Dimensions: 29” tall, 24” armpit to armpit. A desirable jacket for your Waffen SS display. Please see photos.
