Original French Gras Bayonet 1879 Matching Scab. - Original French Gras Bayonet 1879. Matching numbers scabbard. Nice clean blade, sharp, nice point. Marked on top “Mre d'Armes de St Etienne Julliet 1879”. Length 20.5”. Overall 25.5”. Wood grips in good shape. No loss of material. Patinated grip and handle surfaces. Functional bayonet catch. Quillon stamped w/ inspection marks and “H 65572”. Scabbard is matching and stamped “ R 65572”. Aside from surface rust, it is straight with no dents or creases. Measures 21.25” long. The last of the French sword bayonets. See photos.
