Original French Gras Bayonet 1879 W/ Scabard. - Original French Gras Bayonet 1879 with scabbard. Nice clean blade, sharp, nice point. Marked on top “Mre d'Armes de St Etienne Mars1879”. Length 20.5”. Overall 25.5”. Wood grips in good shape, with some scuffs and nicks. Grip handle surface etched with initials “ER” and other side “ECP”. Functional bayonet catch. Quillon stamped w/ inspection marks and “G 78680”. Scabbard is non matching and stamped “ N 42743”. Scabbard clean with spots of surface rust, it is straight with no dents or creases, and has most of its blued finish Measures 21.25” long. The last of the French sword bayonets. See photos.
