US Navy ”King’s Pattern” Flatware Off Mess Mix - King’s Pattern Flatware partial setting for 3 Navy officers. 16 individual pieces in total [10 spoons, 3 forks, 3 knives]. Pre-WWI era. Each is fabricated from silvered metal, magnetic, incorporating an ornate stylized ”shell” design on both sides of the handle, known as the King's pattern. Some of the silverware instead of a fouled anchor has an Eagle for Navy Captains, or a nautical square-knot for Junior Officers. In this group there are 2 eagle marked knives and 1 square-knot knife as well as 1 spoon with nautical square-knot and 3 forks with eagles. The rest are marked with fouled anchor. The reverse of all items also stamped ”U.S.N.” (United States Navy) framed by the ornate frame. There are 3 Dinner forks [8” long]; 10 Dinner spoons [7” long]; 3 Dinner knives [9.75” long].
