38 18” US State Dept Records Voice of America - Collection of 38 18” vinyl records. 33-1/3 R.P.M. speed. All (except one custom record dated Nov 19, 1946) are made for the Voice Of America, and property of the State Department. The collection has a wide variety of Jazz, classical, Latin, Folk, Dixieland and Ragtime music among others and features prominent musicians like: Louis Armstrong; Guy Lombardo; Pee Wee Erwin and his Dixieland Band; Pee Wee Hunt and his 12th Street Rag Orchestra; Jelly Roll Morton and his band of the 1920’s; Eddie Condon and his Dixieland Band; Art Mooney Orchestra; Lawrence Welk; Eddy Howard; Xavier Cugat; King Oliver and his Creole Jazz Band; Jack Fina; Music in the Hawaiian Mood; Don Miguel Orchestra; Phil Napoleon and his Memphis Five; US Army Dixieland Band; Billy Butterfield; Carmen Cavallaro; Sol Yaged Quintet; Christmas music and Negro Spirituals. All the records are in their original sleeves and do not have any scratches or blemishes to their playing surfaces. A perfect collection of music for your next WWII USO show or your display. As a side note, this collection is marked with labels attributing it to John Moyer, who worked at the Field Museum in Chicago from 1929-1970. He was the Chief of the Motion Picture Division and interestingly a taxidermist. He created this behind-the-scenes film of the taxidermy techniques used on Bushman (famous gorilla specimen).
