Bidspirit auction | Native American Points (6)
Native American Points (6) - This is an excellent grouping of six lithic projectile points, showcasing a range of materials, sizes, and notching styles characteristic of various North American pre-contact cultures. Based on the morphology and visible chert types, we have a mix of potential spear and/or dart points, as well as smaller true arrowheads. The materials range from a light cream/tan chert on the left point (marked 'DARL 0 TO 1000 AD 39D3-13'), to a glossy black obsidian or dark chert, and various tan/brown cherts on the others. Some are serrated and others are broadly notched. Field markings are present on all pieces, including '50', a date, and '15C 8M81'. Overall condition appears good to very good, consistent with excavated or surface-collected artifacts, with expected small chips, wear to the edges, and patination commensurate with age; no major breaks or repairs are immediately visible. Approximate measurements H 1.5” to 2.75”, W 0.5” to 1.5”, D 0.25”. From the Native American display in Donley's Wild West Town.
