Large Purple Blown Glass Lanterns (2) W/Rods(2) - These striking Moroccan-style ”onion” lanterns feature deep amethyst hand-blown glass encased in intricate, scrolled iron wire cages. The vibrant purple hue and the bulbous, multi-tiered form suggest a Mid-Century Bohemian or Mediterranean influence, likely produced for the high-end exotic decor market in the mid-20th century. Accompanying the pair are two heavy, verdigris-patina brass or bronze hanging rods that add significant presence and height for a grand entryway or loggia. Both glass inserts appear intact without major cracks; however, the iron cages show consistent surface oxidation and rust, and the brass rods (not pictured) exhibit a heavy aged patina and some bending consistent with use and storage.
