Indian Wars Era Relics & 6lb Cannonball - This expansive grouping features what is believed to be an authentic 19th-century solid cast-iron cannonball. Measuring approximately 3.5” in diameter, the projectile is consistent with a 6lb solid shot, showing a prominent flattened sprue scar and a heavy, pitted oxidation characteristic of period ordnance. The lot includes a primitive display from the Florence Zigman estate, consisting of a frame with ”Indian Trade” glass beads, bone tools, and copper-alloy rings tied with string to a heavy cardstock backing. Completing the collection are two cigar boxes (Dutch Masters and Roi-Tan) filled with excavated military debris, including a brass Union Eagle belt plate, an infantry bugle insignia, lead Minie balls, and spent cartridges associated with the Indian Wars era. The iron ball shows deep surface pitting and a dark, stable patina; the string-tied artifacts remain securely attached despite the aged, moisture-spotted cardstock, while the brass pieces display significant verdigris.
