Pastel Painting on Masonite Board of a Parrot on a Branch, Signed G. Perlee - Pastel painting on Masonite board of a parrot on a branch, signed G. Perlee bottom right, ca. 1950s-1960s. The artwork comes from the Perlee family, Netherlands most famous organ family. Gijs Perelee Jr. (son of Gijs Perlee) is known for painting the characteristic Perlee rosettes and the ”Sleeping Giant” painting in the center of the historically important ”Het Snotneusje” organ, which decorated the organ façade from 1960s until the 2020 restoration. ”Het Snotneusje” saved many lives of Amsterdammers who took cover behind it during the May 7, 1945 shooting on Dam Square.
