Rare Coin-Operated Kalliope No. 216 Disc Music Box (ca. 1903) Sold by A. L neburg, Germany - An impressive and rare coin-operated Kalliope No. 216 ”Concert & Tanz Automat” disc music box (circa 1903) sold by A. L neburg Musikwerke, Altona-Ottensen, Germany. This large upright machine represents the golden age of mechanical music, designed for public venues such as caf s, dance halls, and fairgrounds. Upon insertion of a coin, the mechanism activates a rotating perforated metal disc, producing rich and vibrant musical compositions. The machine features a beautifully crafted wooden cabinet with strong architectural detailing, original glass panel decoration, and visible internal mechanism including the large interchangeable disc system. This music box features 145 ”extra-wide” teeth and uses 58 cm wide discs. It comes with one disc in the machine and no extra discs.
