Bidspirit auction | Rare Original Antique Wellershaus Organ

Rare Original Antique Wellershaus Organ Figure - This extremely rare original antique Wellershaus organ figure, produced by the prestigious Gebruder Wellershaus workshop in Mulheim an der Ruhr, Germany, is a masterwork of late 19th-century fairground craftsmanship. Hand-carved from seasoned linden wood and finished in traditional polychrome, these figures were often designed as conductors with complex internal mechanical movements that synchronized head and arm gestures with the organ's musical performance. Original examples are exceptionally scarce, as many were lost to the rigorous conditions of traveling carnivals or replaced during subsequent organ conversions. Fair overall condition, missing right arm and lower left arm, shows wear, paint loss and minor cracking. Dimensions (H x W x D): 83 x 26 x 26 cm. Weight: 4.5 kg. Condition: Fair. Location: Dutch Auction Company, Tilburg, The Netherlands. Condition: Fair
