Calmet's Dictionary of the Holy Bible: historical, critical, geographical, and etymological etc. English edition of the famous work of Augustin Calmet (1672 - 1757) - annotation of biblical terms. Volumes I and II, London 1797, and 1801. Accompanied by engravings of the breastplate, the Roman Gate, ancient Jewish coins, biblical animals, and more. Luxurious original leather bindings with gilt embossing. English and some Hebrew.


Geographical history with a detailed explanation of the words, names and concepts in the Bible. An extensive review of the treasures of Palestine at the time of writing the book, and a deep historical study of their origin. Chronological study with tables, and as mentioned engravings. Augustine Clement and participation of Taylor, Charles. The author is a famous scholar, who has spent all his years in important libraries throughout the Roman Empire while studying in depth hundreds of books dealing with the study of the Bible and everything around it.
