A ballot paper for the Nazi party in the forced elections of 1933

Ballot paper for the Nazi party in the German Reichstag elections in March 1933 - These elections were held shortly after the burning of the Reichstag by the party, and they were accompanied by an unprecedented propaganda and intimidation campaign throughout Germany. These elections put Hitler as sole and undisputed control of Nazi Germany.

Note title: Reichstagswahl wahltreis - 'Reichstag elections'. Candidates: Adolf Hitler and the leaders of the Nazi party during all the years of her reign, responsible for the Nazi extermination program: Herman Goering, Joseph Goebbels, Rudolf Hess, Wilhelm Frick, Roham, Walter Dahr, Alfred Hugenberg, and others. In the blank circle that appears in the ballot paper on the right, the 'voter' is required to mark x in order to 'not confirm', and leave it blank in order to 'confirm'.

These elections were held after that on January 30, 1933, Hitler was already Chancellor of Germany, after being appointed to the post by Hindenburg. Despite the campaign of propaganda and intimidation designed to force German citizens to vote for the Nazi Party, it failed to win a majority - winning only 44 percent of the vote. Hitler saw this as a failure and accelerated the pace of the party's takeover of the country. The powers transferred to the Nazi Party multiplied and the street was controlled by S.S and S.A. thugs. On March 22, the Dachau concentration camp in southern Germany was set up to imprison and isolate opponents of Nazism. Between June and July of that year, all parties were expelled from the Reichstag through violence, threats and legislation. On July 14, the "Law for the Existence of the Nazi Party as a Single Party" was enacted, declaring that only the Nazi Party is allowed, and any other party is prohibited and against the law. Thus was completed the transformation of the regime of the Weimar Republic into a one-party regime granting unlimited authority to the ruling party. In November of that year, additional "elections" were held for the Reichstag and 661 deputies from the Nazi party were elected.

Size: 15x21 cm. stains. Good condition.
