Real Photo postcards from the honor ceremony held for Dreyfus at the ECOLE MILITAIRE after his complete acquittal. Paris, 1906

7 Real photo postcards [all but one are Real-photo] from the honor ceremony held for Alfred Dreyfus in the courtyard of the ECOLE MILITAIRE after his complete acquittal in 1906.

Among the postcards: Dreyfus being led in the honor carriage on the way to the honor ceremony, Dreyfus conversing with generals after his ranks were restored to him, the honor guard from different camera angles, General Gillian satisfied after awarding Dreyfus the Legion of Honor cross, the honor guard waiting for Dreyfus who is about to exit the building, associates and generals celebrating, and more.

On July 12, 1906, the Court of Appeals overturned the verdict of the Rennes court. The day after, the National Assembly decides by a majority of votes to restore to Dreyfus and Picquart the officer ranks that were taken from them, and in addition to promote Dreyfus to the rank of major and award him the Legion of Honor. On July 21, an honor ceremony was held in the courtyard of the ECOLE MILITAIRE in the presence of military personnel, his family, and close friends, as a counterweight to the humiliation ceremony held in the exact same place exactly 11 years earlier in which his ranks were removed after he was accused of treason.

Among the most sought-after postcards of the Dreyfus affair.

Overall very good condition.
