“Lord Cohen: The Judaization of the English Upper Class from Disraeli to Hore-Belisha” – The Jewish Takeover of England – a sharply antisemitic publication issued at the outbreak of World War II - ”Lord Cohn: Die Verjudung der englischen Oberschicht von D’Israeli bis Hore-Belisha” – ”Lord Cohn: The Judaization of the English Upper Class from D'Israeli to Hore-Belisha”, by Ernst Clam, published by v. Hase & Koehler, Leipzig, 1940 – first edition. An antisemitic publication portraying the English upper class as having been overtaken by Jews. Issued in Germany at the outbreak of World War II with the intent of justifying German aggression against Britain as a nation ”controlled by Jews.” ”A great deal of Jewish blood seeped into British society so deeply... that you no longer recognize it” – an antisemitic publication presenting the Jews as a “seeping” threat infiltrating the non-Jewish elite in Western countries, this time in England. The author seeks to describe the historical development of what he portrays as a Jewish takeover of the centers of power and economy in England, beginning in the 19th century and culminating in the 1930s — while distorting history and creating a falsified image of the Jews. The title of the book refers to two Jews who held the highest-ranking positions in Britain: Benjamin Disraeli – Britain's Jewish-born Prime Minister in the late 1860s, who is accused of having introduced imperialist aspirations into England and of bringing about a situation of ”Europe against Germany”; and Leslie Hore-Belisha, Britain’s Jewish-born Minister of War during World War II – portrayed as the executor of this takeover plan. The author describes how during Disraeli's time, the number of Jews in major cities allegedly reached 90% of the total population. He enumerates sixty-five synagogues in London alone at the time. According to him, Disraeli laid the cornerstone for the golden age of England’s Jews, which reached its peak during the reign of Edward VII, when the Rothschild family turned England into a ”monster of wealth, ” as he puts it, ”more than India, Egypt, and Sudan combined.” At that time, several wealthy Jewish families allegedly ruled England and dictated the imperial doctrine for the years to come, among them Nathan, Isaac, Samuel Montagu, Cardon, Salomon, Goldschmidt, Simon, and many others. During Lloyd George’s term, the Jews took over English banking and knew how to exploit the events of World War I for Jewish interests. According to him, it was the Jews who created the delegitimization of Germany following its defeat in World War I, and in the years after the war, England became “completely Jewish.” In his venomous language, the author addresses the reader in the epilogue and describes the current situation in “Jewish” Britain: “Now, dear reader... let’s suppose this conversation took place quietly and peacefully, as we sat in one of the tea houses of London in Lyon. Then I might ask you: shall we go for a walk? Or to a movie? Is there a Korda premiere showing now? Or do you prefer the theatre? Yes? Bergner is making his debut in a new role today. Would you prefer some light music? I’d like to take a look. Am I mistaken, or is Richard Tauber giving a guest performance today?... I was sitting in a Jewish tea house, and now I want to take you to a Jewish film, to the premiere of a Jewish drama... Yes, it’s not easy being an antisemite in England, is it? Now I really must go back with you, have a drink, and tell you about English art and its connection to Jewish immigration from Germany...”. The publishing house v. Hase & Koehler is known for having published antisemitic materials during the Third Reich. The cover design – the British crown atop a Jewish Star of David in the colors of the British flag – was created by Oswald Weise. 117, [2] pages. Good condition.
