Security Policeman, Ready—Hurrah! – rare internal booklet for members of the German Labor Service. Typewritten and mimeographed for Hitler Youth participants during a workweek in the camp. Unit 5/323 – includes daily schedule, morale songs, and activity reports. The booklet was issued on the occasion of welcoming three new members into the Labor Service. Dillingen an der Saar (Germany). March, 1939. Rare. Internal booklet for members of the Reich Labor Service (RAD – Reichsarbeitsdienst), featuring social content for German youth in the form of reading passages and songs, issued in honor of the acceptance of three new comrades into the Labor Service on April 2, 1939: Paul Dahlmann, Heinz Rose, and Hubert Feldmann. The celebration took place at the Sturm guesthouse-chapel in Menden on March 27, 1939. Included is a song titled “Improve Your Skills in the Labor Service”, about the great decision made by a senior RAD official that brought joy to the staff and fellow comrades. The booklet details a workday schedule reflecting the organization’s “military-style” hierarchy: “Morning. Gentle wake-up call by unit commanders and labor supervisors, police officer. Breakfast menu presentation. 9:45 a.m. – breakfast served by labor supervisors and senior labor managers. 10:15 a.m. – clearing of the area by squad leaders... Meanwhile, section commanders and platoon leaders prepare the rooms and beds, and platoon leaders and labor supervisors prepare lunch (peeling potatoes, washing picnic bowls, etc.)... From 6 a.m. onwards, wear your dress uniform (trousers, buttoned shirt, and fur shirt), then proceed to work...”. Also featured: a wake-up song, a unity song: “Today we are all cheerful, because today we are all one heart and one soul...”, a jokes section, an announcements section, and more. On the cover page is an illustration of a Hitler Youth boy in uniform with a swastika armband, holding a shovel. Rare. Not listed in any known bibliographic reference. [12] leaves. 30 cm.
