Design for a lapel pin bearing the emblem of the 6850th Internal Security Unit at the Nuremberg Trials - Metal pin - a design for the emblem of the 6850th Internal Security Unit of the United States Army at the Nuremberg Trials. Nuremberg, 1940s. The emblem worn by the U.S. Military Police during the three Nuremberg Trials (Major War Criminals, Doctors, Lawyers) between 1946 and 1949. A pin bearing the special emblem designed for the unit that secured the trials of the Nazi war criminals. Before us is a rare remnant from the production process - the base of the original pin. On this base, in the second stage, the filling for the various parts of the pin was cast using enamel in blue, red, black, and white. At the center, the scales of justice hovering above the broken Nazi eagle at its center, rising in flames. At the top, a broken swastika on one side and the unit’s emblem on the other. On the reverse of the pin appears the manufacturer’s mark: L. Chr. Lauer - abbreviation of Ludwig Christian Lauer, a manufacturer of medals, tokens, and pins from Nuremberg who operated from the 19th century into the 20th century. The company was one of the well-known manufacturers in the city for the production of medals, badges, and pins for official and historical events. See Dynasty Sale 32, Item 132. 3x4 cm.
