In his letter, Yellin refers to the publication of a melody composed by Gabriel Grad for a song written by his late son (his fifth son, Avinoam, was murdered in October 1937), and asks him to send him the melody so that Mrs. Thelma Yellin, his musician daughter-in-law, may give her opinion of the work. The recipient, Gabriel Grad [1890–1950] - a Lithuanian Jewish composer who was active in Russia and Germany, and later, after immigrating to the Land of Israel, in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
