One figurine is made of wood, and the other of cast material - a private work created to mark Victory Day of the Allied forces in the Second World War following the surrender of Nazi Germany. Victory in Europe Day was marked on May 8, 1945, following the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany. Across London, Paris, and New York, spontaneous celebrations erupted: crowds poured into the streets, and flags were raised everywhere. For the Allied powers, this marked the end of the fighting in Europe. Behind the joy, however, lay a тяжел dimension: the European continent was devastated, millions of people were displaced, and the horrors of the war were only beginning to be revealed.
