A letter by Rabbi Abraham Isaac HaCohen Kook requesting assistance for a Torah scholar - A letter in the handwriting and signature of Rabbi Abraham Isaac HaCohen Kook, “To my honorable friend the eminent Rabbi R.Z.S., may he live long, ” requesting assistance for a man named Yosef HaCohen from Metula. Written on the letterhead of Rabbi Kook during his tenure as Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. C. 1919. In his letter, Rabbi Kook writes that Yosef HaCohen from Metula is a native of Australia, has no kollel, and that his condition is very poor: “It is a mitzvah to assist him to the fullest extent possible.” Signed in his own hand.
