Photograph Album of Jewish Youth in Lithuania Between the Two World Wars - Photograph album containing 75 photographs of Jewish boys and girls taken during the 1920s and 1930s. The album includes numerous group photographs as well as individual portraits of young people from the Lithuanian cities of Kaunas and Marijampolė. Toward the end are several photographs of some of the same young people in the Land of Israel following their immigration in the late 1930s. Several photographs bear handwritten inscriptions and greetings in Yiddish on the reverse. Photographs include: a Zionist youth parade in Lithuania, striking studio portrait photographs taken at local photography studios in Lithuania, group photographs of members of Zionist organizations, young people in transit camps, photographs from the ”Kiryat Avoda Housing Projects” of the General Federation of Labor in the Land of Israel (Histadrut), and more. Several photographs bear the stamps of photography studios, including: MODERN Foto-Atelier (Marijampolė), S. Bajero (Laisv. al. 57, Kaunas), K. Usaciovas (Kaunas), and Foto REKORD (Ukmergė). The photographs are dated between 1925 and 1935. Album: 31x23 cm. Photographs in various sizes: 17x12 cm to 9x7 cm. The photographs are either mounted or inserted into the album's pockets. Some of the album pages are blank and do not contain photographs. Overall good condition.
