”Mein Kampf (suite et fin)” - Anti-Nazi Board Game Issued to Mark the Liberation of Belgium. C. September 1944 - ”Mein Kampf (suite et fin)” – ”My Manifesto” (”Mein Kampf – Sequel and End” - a satirical parody of Hitler's famous book). An anti-Nazi board game produced in Belgium immediately after its liberation, toward the end of the Second World War (C. late 1944). ”IMPRIMÉ EN BELGIQUE” (”Printed in Belgium”). Created by the Belgian illustrator E. Schellinck, signed in the center of the board and dated 1944. Extremely rare. The game depicts Hitler as a goose wearing a swastika armband and a Nazi officer's cap. Facing him on the opposite side stands British Prime Minister Winston Churchill - the powerful figure threatening the ”Nazi goose” in the form of Hitler and slaughtering him with a knife. The object of the game is to advance along the wartime course by rolling the die and moving the playing pieces, while throughout the game the Nazis suffer one defeat after another, culminating in the Allied victory. The final image on the board depicts Hitler being executed by hanging, defeated Wehrmacht soldiers, and Allied troops celebrating their victory atop a tank. Among the successive illustrations are defeated SS troops on various fronts, the purge within Germany - Adolf Hitler executing his domestic opponents by hanging - Nazi soldiers giving the Hitler salute, the advance of the American army, the defeat of the Nazi military during June and July 1944, and more. The illustrations were executed in the celebrated Belgian comic-book style known as the Ligne claire (”clear line”). The characters and line work closely resemble the style of Hergé, the creator of Tintin. During the war and in the period immediately following Belgium's liberation, many local illustrators adopted this popular artistic style for works deliberately directed against the recently ended German occupation, celebrating its downfall.
