Istanbul, 1966. Translated by A. Nejad (Tercüme eden: A. Nejad). Published by KAĞAN KİTABEVİ, under the management of H. Tunçay, on Nuruosmaniye Street, Istanbul, and printed by YENİ MATBAA. The rear cover features promotional text published by the publisher praising the book. Rare. An early Turkish edition of the first part of Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf (”My Struggle”), printed in Istanbul in 1966. At the top of the title page appears the ideological heading ”Nasyonal Sosyalizm” (”National Socialism”). The publisher states on the rear cover (written in 1966!): ”At a time when the ideological crises of our century are coming to the fore, Mein Kampf, as a book that has inspired and moved generations, remains a powerful and unparalleled work, unique in its field. Mein Kampf is not Hitler's biography. Mein Kampf is Hitler's greatest work, and the greatest work of our time, which diagnoses the Marxism and Jewish imperialism sweeping the world, strikes the hardest blow against its enemies, and confronts them with a nationalist ideology. In our opinion, anyone who has not read Mein Kampf is incomplete.”  The fact that only two decades after the end of the Second World War and the destruction of European Jewry, a publishing house in a modern Muslim country chose to present the book to the general public not as a critical historical document but as ”a unique work that inspired and moved generations, ” while emphasizing Hitler's purported ”contribution” in identifying and striking at ”Jewish imperialism, ” underscores the extent to which racist antisemitism had permeated public and cultural discourse in the region during those years. Mein Kampf, first published in 1925, presents extreme antisemitism not merely as a political position, but as the central axis and driving force of the entire Nazi racial ideology. In the book, Hitler portrays the Jew as the absolute antithesis of the Aryan race, a destructive ”parasite” possessing no culture of its own and seeking to undermine the nation from within. He develops the conspiracy theory of ”world Jewry, ” accusing Jews of two supposedly opposing forms of domination: control of finance and international capitalism on the one hand, and leadership of Marxism and Communism (”Jewish Bolshevism”) on the other. Hitler declares that the struggle against the Jews is a biological war of survival and that, without a radical solution to the ”Jewish Question”, ideas that would later form the direct ideological foundation for the extermination of European Jewry during the Holocaust. 125 pages.
