“The Jewish Cancerous Blight, in Particular, Had to Be Ruthlessly Exterminated” – Extreme Antisemitic Publication in the Nazi-Occupied Netherlands - “The Jews, with whom English plutocracy is closely allied, have always sown discord under the guise of ‘freedom’ in the democratic countries where they were given every opportunity to do so... There are people who refuse to learn except through harm or disgrace, and the Jewish cancerous blight, in particular, had to be ruthlessly excised!!” – Verdeel en Heersch! – “Divide and Rule!” – An antisemitic and National Socialist propaganda booklet published in 1943 in the occupied Netherlands. Dutch. Rare. “Thus the Jewish objective was fully achieved: the people were gradually torn apart into small groups, none of which, on its own, remained strong enough to repel the enemy of the people!... In this way, the strength of the people was weakened and undermined, and the time had come to further erode all authority through Communism, thereby slowly but surely preparing the way for the final grip of Bolshevism! This was the secret of France’s downfall! And along the same path, Belgium too was rapidly marching toward the abyss! In one country, this Jewish method of suppression failed completely! In Germany!...”. (from the booklet). An antisemitic booklet intended to serve the Nazi apparatus of repression in occupied Europe by inciting the local working class in the Netherlands against the parliamentary system, the trade unions, and the Jewish community. The booklet is accompanied by antisemitic illustrations depicting Jews and other groups as dogs, culminating in the expulsion of the “Jewish dog.” The first page features an extreme caricature depicting various social groups – a worker, a farmer, an industrialist, and an intellectual – as dogs fighting among themselves over a bone inscribed “Prosperity, ” while the dog identified as a “Jew” (Jood) snatches the bone of prosperity from between their legs. The booklet portrays the rise of Bolshevism in France and Belgium as the deliberate result of a Jewish conspiracy and claims that the democratic system fragmented the strength of the nation into small interest groups. It then presents what was done in Germany as a model to be emulated by other countries in “dealing with the problem.” Until 1933, according to the booklet, Germany was deeply divided among political parties, bringing it to the brink of the Bolshevik abyss. The text claims that salvation came with the rise of Adolf Hitler (“the Führer”), who united workers and employers and laid the cornerstone of economic prosperity. It glorifies the measures taken by Nazi Germany, which “kicked the Jewish dogs beyond its borders” and completely abolished the class struggle. The booklet urges the occupied countries to adopt Germany’s model for dealing with the Jews, describing it as “the cornerstone of their present prosperity! Needless to say, harsh measures sometimes had to be employed to achieve this. There are always people who refuse to learn except through harm or disgrace, and the Jewish cancerous blight, in particular, had to be ruthlessly excised!” Alongside the text is an illustration showing the Jewish “dog” departing in disgrace. Extremely rare. Not listed in the WorldCat global library catalog. [4] pages. Very good condition.
