"On the verge of freedom?" - Antisemitic booklet in Serbia accusing the Jews for prolonging World War II and the inability of the Allies to subdue Nazi Germany

На ивици слободе?! - "On the verge of Freedom?" An antisemitic booklet towards the end of World War II, claiming that the reason the Allied forces did not succeed in defeating Nazi Germany is the Jewish control holding the Allied countries from within. Serbia [1943]. Serbian.

An anonymously written booklet claiming that the Allies have the military might to defeat Nazi Germany, and the reason they are not succeeding in doing so is because they are controlled from within by Jews: "The nations of the democratic countries of England and America are like swans in the fog. Under the influence of Jewish propaganda these nations have lost their way. They are led by Jews and in this dark night they move with false compasses, and in the end, those peoples and their countries will be defeated anyway, for the Jews set as their final goal to rule the world... The Soviets aspire to Europe, America aspires to a world empire, and the Jews aspire to both America and the Soviets...".

In 1941 Serbia became a puppet state controlled by the Nazis until 1944. The Serbian population itself was divided into two - one part supported the Nazis and even took part in the murder of Jews, and the other believed that the Allies were destined to win the war and that there should be opposition to cooperation with the Nazis. The booklet before us addresses the Serbian people taking an antisemitic stance, claiming that the Allies have no chance of defeating Nazi Germany with the absurd claim that they are controlled by Jews. It is amazing to see that in 1943, at the height of the mass destruction of European Jewry, publications were still being issued blaming the Jews themselves for the inability to defeat Nazi Germany.
