First and only edition of this album of engravings referring to the famous legend of the Sete Infantes de Lara, which appears in the Chronicle General of Spain. The work consists of 40 beautiful engravings drawn by Otto von Veen, a painter and humanist from Brussels at the end of the 16th and beginning of the 17th century. He is known for having a studio in Antwerp where he produced several books on emblems and for having taught Paul Rubens between 1594 and 1598. The engravings were engraved by Dancker Danckerts, an important engraver and publisher belonging to a family also linked to cartography. Very rare.
