Engraving; 425 × 535 mm (sheet). View of the great port of Vlissingen on the island of Walcheren. In front, the harbour, protected by long moles, is animated by numerous sailing vessels and boats; to the right, small outworks and sandy fields underline the coastal position. In the sky, a cartouche bears the title FLISSINGA; in the foreground, a group of figures adds scale to the composition. Text printed on the verso in Latin under the heading FLISSINGA, with historical and commercial notes on the city; pagination “28”, from volume V of the Civitates orbis terrarum.
