Graduated border, rhumb lines , and a scale of leagues (plain cartouche at lower left); at lower right a bold baroque title cartouche surmounted by a row of coats of arms of the peninsular kingdoms. Dense place-name coverage, river network and mountain ranges; maritime labels include “Mer de Biscaye, ” “Golfe de Cadis, ” “Mer d’Espagne, ” and “Partie d’Afrique” at the Strait of Gibraltar. Paris edition by Jaillot , after Nicolas Sanson’s design, typical of the Atlas Nouveau printings of the early 18th century.
