Lista das Pessoas que Sahiram, Condenações [...] - HOLY OFFICE (Portuguese Inquisition). Set of 3 pamphlets; 295 mm tall. 1728: [4] leaves; 1751: bifolium; 1755: bifolium. Single-column typography with woodcut initials; entries numbered with marginal columns recording the penalties; wide margins; minor handling, tiny edge nicks and occasional spotting; clean, very readable copies. Official printed post-auto-da-fé lists naming all those sentenced, stating place of origin and status, the specific offence, and the penalties imposed (whipping, exile/transportation, service at the oars, spiritual penances, wearing of the penitential habit, etc.), arranged by procedural category (“do not abjure nor wear the habit, ” “abjuration de leve / vehemente , ” “wear the habit, ” and so on). The Lisbon 1728 issue—held at the church of São Domingos and noting the inquisitor-general Cardinal Nuno da Cunha —is the most extensive ([4] leaves); the Coimbra 1751 and Évora 1755 issues follow the same template. Together they fix the public record of inquisitorial sentences and offer a primary source of first rank for Iberian social-religious history in the eighteenth century.
