Juan de Baena Parada, a presbyter from Madrid, compiled in this volume a narrative of the campaigns of King Sebastian in Africa and his ill-fated death at the Battle of Alcácer Quibir (1578), accompanied by scholastic, political, historical and moral discourses derived from the same history. Pages 189 to 210 include a Chronology of the Kings of Portugal from the origins to 1665. According to the Samodães catalogue, the work is of great historical importance and unknown to Salvá.
