Paperbound. João Paulo Cancella de Abreu, a Portuguese lawyer, was legal counsel for Mircea Grégoire Lambrino in the case in which the latter sought recognition as the legitimate son of King Carol II of Romania (1893-1953). Carol II, King of Romania from 1930 to 1940, had secretly married Ioana (Zizi) Lambrino in 1918, from whom Mircea Grégoire Lambrino was born. Although the marriage was annulled by the Romanian royal family, Mircea obtained, by judgment of the Portuguese courts in 1955, recognition of his parentage and the right to bear the Hohenzollern surname. This volume collects the principal pleadings and documents from the case, making it a curious record of dynastic and legal history.
