André de Resende (Évora, c. 1500-1573) was one of the greatest Portuguese humanists of the 16th century, a distinguished poet and Latinist, correspondent of Erasmus and a central figure of Iberian humanism. The Vida de Frei Pedro de Sousa is one of his works in Portuguese prose, a biography of the Dominican mystic Frei Pedro de Sousa.
