SUAREZ FERNANDEZ (Luis). RELACIONES entre Portugal y Castilla en la Epoca del Infante Don Enrique 1393-1460. Madrid. 1960. - SUAREZ FERNANDEZ (Luis) RELACIONES entre Portugal y Castilla en la Epoca del Infante Don Enrique 1393-1460 . Madrid: Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas, 1960. 282 pp; 250 mm. A seminal study on the diplomatic and political relations between Portugal and Castile over seven decades that were fundamental to the history of the Iberian Peninsula, from the late 14th to the mid-15th century, a period coinciding with the life of Prince Henry the Navigator. Published by the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (Spanish National Research Council) in its Escuela de Estudios Medievales (School of Medieval Studies) collection, this volume analyzes, with the support of extensive archival documentation, the Portuguese-Castilian conflicts and agreements of this period, including the tensions surrounding the Canary Islands question and Atlantic expansion, contributing decisively to the understanding of the peninsular context in which the overseas policy initiated by Prince Henry the Navigator developed. This edition is quite uncommon on the market, despite its relatively recent publication date. ⚑ Auto-translated via Google Translate
