FARIA (Francisco Leite). ESTUDOS BIBLIOGRÁFICOS sobre Damião de Góis e a sua Época. Lisboa. 1977. - FARIA (Francisco Leite) ESTUDOS BIBLIOGRÁFICOS sobre Damião de Góis e a sua Época . Lisboa: Secretaria de Estado da Cultura, 1977. XVI, 578, [2] pp.: il.; 290 mm. A seminal work on the bibliography of Goiás, published as part of the commemorations of the 4th Centenary of the Death of Damião de Góis (1502-1574), with a preface by the Organizing Committee. It brings together bibliographical descriptions of editions of the works of the humanist from Alenquer, illustrated with facsimile reproductions of frontispieces, and studies the European intellectual milieu in which he moved, including an inventory of the works that constituted his library, by authors such as Erasmus, Luther, and other humanists of his time. It is the most complete bibliographical repertoire on Góis and his circle, regularly cited by studies on Portuguese humanism and on the circulation of books in the 16th century, and an indispensable tool for identifying 16th-century editions. Highly regarded. ⚑ Auto-translated via Google Translate
