Irwin Whitaker (AM 1919-2009) Enamel Panel - Irwin A. Whitaker (American, 1919-2009), modernist enameled copper panel, signed with the artist's stylized monogram lower right as well as identified on back, attached to a black velvet mounting board, and in a period walnut frame measuring 10-11/16” x 12-3/16”. Whitaker received his MFA from Claremont College in California before accepting a faculty position in 1950 at Michigan State College (later Michigan State University) where he would remain until 1980.
