Hopkins & Allen .450 DA 5.5” Revolver - Hopkins & Allen Double Action Revolver, .450 caliber, with 5.5-inch octagonal barrel. Marked 'THE BEST SECURITY' on the top strap, consistent with Hopkins & Allen production of similar firearms intended for export to the British market. The revolver features a blued finish that has heavily patinated and worn to a brownish tone, and checkered wood grips with integrated lanyard loop on the butt. The cylinder is six-shot, and proof markings are visible on the chambers. No visible serial number is present. CONDITION: The revolver shows significant finish loss and patination over the majority of the metal surfaces. The bore exhibits corrosion and wear consistent with age and exposure. The action appears functional but exhibits wear. The grips are checkered but show wear and smoothing, with minor chips at the edges. The revolver is missing screws or pins at some points, as evidenced by empty mounting holes on the frame. Mechanically, some looseness is present in the cylinder lockup, and further inspection is recommended for safe use. Proof marks on the chambers are legible but exhibit some wear.
