Henderson-Ames Bayonet-Style Short Sword - Kalamazoo, Michigan, circa 1890–1915 Bayonet-form ceremonial or drill corps short sword manufactured by the Henderson-Ames Company of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Features a cast brass/bronze hilt with ribbed grip, decorative eagle pommel, scrolling quillon, and functional bayonet mounting slot with muzzle ring attachment. Straight double-edged blade measuring approximately 10½ inches, with stamped assembly number ”22” near ricasso and faint maker marking for Henderson-Ames Co., Kalamazoo. Likely produced for militia, cadet corps, fraternal organization, or ceremonial parade use rather than standard battlefield issue. Henderson-Ames was a major American supplier of lodge regalia, military accoutrements, drill equipment, and presentation arms during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
