Imperial German Enlisted Sidearm Sword - Late 19th to early 20th century Imperial German enlisted sidearm sword, likely infantry or artillery type. Features a 27 1/8” straight single-fuller blade with visible pitting and wear. Blade bears a worn unit-style marking reading ”…VII.BURGG.38,” likely indicating regimental or depot issue. Steel guard with integral knuckle bow and slotted upper plate. Grip is carved wood with wire wrap, showing age and wear. Steel pommel. Housed in a steel scabbard with one fixed suspension ring and one sliding band, an adjustable carry feature seen on German service examples. Condition shows heavy surface pitting to blade, wear to grip, and damage to scabbard seam at drag.
