Cunard S.S. Franconia Transatlantic Ocean Liner Advertising Print - Alfred F. Bishop (American, 1855-?), framed advertising print depicting the Cunard transatlantic ocean liner the Franconia, which was in service from 1922 till 1956. The ship's bow is labeled ”Franconia,” and a brass plaque on the frame reads ”S.S. Franconia Cunard Line.” The print is signed ”A. F. Bishop” in the lower right corner and is in a varnished wood and gilt gesso frame measuring 18” x 23-1/8”. Advertising prints such as this were often used in travel agencies to promote cruise ship lines and particular ships.
