Anglo-Indian Vizagapatam Carved Bone & Sandalwood Casket or Box - Anglo-Indian Vizagapatam hinged lid and locking casket or box, finely carved bone jali (”jaali”), or fretwork decoration, with floral and scroll motifs, some sections hand painted, and secured with metal studs, over sandalwood, with carved feet in the form of lion's paws, 20th Century, 4-1/8” x 5-1/8” x 2-1/2”. CONDITION: The carved bone fretwork panels are missing on both sides of the lid. In addition there are some other minor breaks and areas of loss. Please see photos.
