Frame shows age-related wear. 17 1/2” x 13 1/2” framed. Wynford Dewhurst (1864-1941, England) was an English Impressionist artist, writer, and art theorist born in Manchester. He studied in Paris and became deeply influenced by Claude Monet, frequently painting the landscapes of the Seine and Creuse valleys. Dewhurst was also the author of Impressionist Painting: Its Genesis and Development, one of the earliest substantial English-language studies of Impressionism. His work is represented in British public collections, and he is often referred to as ”Manchester's Monet.”
