ANRI Virgin Mary Hand-Carved Wood Sculpture - Hand-carved and hand-painted wood sculpture by ANRI of Italy depicting the Santa Maria Assunta (Assumption of the Virgin Mary). The figure portrays the Virgin Mary with folded hands, standing upon clouds surrounded by cherubs, with rich polychrome decoration and gilt accents. The composition is inspired by the celebrated ”Immaculate Conception” paintings of Spanish Baroque master Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, reflecting the graceful devotional style for which ANRI carvings are well known. Measures 12” tall. Appears to be in very good overall condition with light age-appropriate wear.
