Antique Exide Aqua Glass Battery Jar with Lid - Antique Exide aqua glass storage battery jar retaining its original molded glass lid. Embossed ”Exide” on the front, ”LIQUID LINE” along the upper body, and ”THE E.S.B. CO., PHILA., PA., MADE IN U.S.A.” on the lid. Produced by the Electric Storage Battery Company (E.S.B. Co.), the maker of Exide batteries, this jar was originally used as the electrolyte container in early automotive, industrial, or stationary lead-acid batteries. An excellent example of early 20th-century automotive and industrial glass, displaying the desirable light aqua color and original embossed markings. 12” x 9” x 2 1/2”.
