Antique Taylor's Brass & Cast Iron Crank Door Bell - Antique wall-mounted mechanical crank door bell featuring a solid brass bell mounted to a wooden backboard with cast iron housing and hand-operated crank mechanism. The bell is cast ”Taylor's Patent” with the patent date ”Nov. 28, 1860,” representing an early American doorbell design. Operated by turning the exterior crank to ring the internal bell. A desirable architectural antique with attractive age, patina, and wear consistent with use. Bell measures 3” diameter.
