Bidspirit auction | Antq Stickley Brothers Mission Oak
Antq Stickley Brothers Mission Oak Open Arm Settee - Antique American Mission oak open-arm settee by Stickley Brothers Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1910. The design embodies the Arts & Crafts aesthetic with a broad slat back, straight square legs, long flat arms and restrained rectilinear construction. The exposed oak displays attractive grain throughout, while the closely spaced back slats give the piece a particularly strong architectural appearance. A removable cushion would originally have rested over the slatted seat. Retains the original metal ”Quaint Furniture - Stickley Bros. Co. - Grand Rapids, Mich.” label underneath. A desirable period example of American Mission and Arts & Crafts furniture with its original maker's label intact. Good antique condition with age-appropriate surface wear, scratches, finish wear and other signs of use. 37” x 50” x 22”.
