Antq Chinese Qing Dynasty Figural Painting, Gengzi - Antique Chinese ink and color painting on textile depicting an elegant garden scene with women and children among scholar's rocks, pine and flowering branches. Inscribed upper right with calligraphy including a Gengzi cyclical year designation and bearing a red artist's seal. If the inscription and apparent Qing-period age are contemporaneous, the Gengzi date may correspond to 1840, during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. Artist identification remains undetermined. Extensive age-related wear including toning, staining, creasing, edge losses, tears, fraying and deterioration to the textile and mounting, with evidence of old stabilization/repairs. 36” x 19 1/2”.
