Gerard Curtis Delano (1890-1972), often known as Jerry Delano, was an American painter and illustrator celebrated for his depictions of the American West. Born in Marion, Massachusetts, he studied at the Art Students League of New York and the Grand Central School of Art under noted instructors including George Bridgman, Harvey Dunn, and N.C. Wyeth. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War I and working as a Colorado ranch hand, Delano devoted his career to painting Western landscapes, cowboys, Native American subjects, and wildlife. His works are held in numerous museum and private collections and have achieved strong results at major Western art auctions.
