Antique Italian Alabaster Bust of a Young Woman - Finely carved late 19th to early 20th century Continental alabaster bust depicting an elegant young woman in classical dress, her hair arranged in an elaborate upswept coiffure and accented with floral ornament at the shoulder. Executed in the academic style associated with Italian sculpture workshops of Florence and Carrara, with finely modeled facial features, drapery and hair. Natural cream and honey-toned veining throughout the alabaster. Faintly signed on verso, appearing to read ”A. Cili...”, signature partially illegible. No base. Good overall condition with age-appropriate surface wear and natural variations to the alabaster. 10 1/2” tall.
