GEN. WILLIAM H. SANDS' PERSONAL COPY OF 'OMAHA BEACHHEAD'
Maj. Gen. William Hamilton Sands, Jr. (1941 - 1945) Commanding Officer Artillery, 29th Infantry Division (Northwestern Europe). His personal copy, stamped and signed, of 'Omaha Beachhead (6 June - 13 June 1944)' published by the Historical Division U.S. War Department, September 1945, 167 pages, 10.5 x 8 in., illustrated, sixteen (16) foldout maps in the appendix, all are stamped with the general's personal stamp 'William H. Sands Major General 29th Infantry'. Covers are mostly detached, the maps were removed at one time and then stapled together by the general. Very good.
